UFCW 1006A activists discuss Black Lives Matter movement

Canada’s labour movement launches new national survey on workplace violence and harassmentVaughan, Ont. – October 28, 2020 – UFCW Local 1006A Recorder Glacier Effs-Samuel recently interviewed member-activists Kallisha Hoyes and Rechev Browne on their thoughts regarding the Black Lives Matter movement for racial equality and justice.

The interview was featured as part of the Local’s October 2020 General Membership Meeting, a telephone town hall that was chaired by UFCW 1006A President Wayne Hanley.

During the interview, members shared their experiences on growing up Black in Canada and spoke about how other union members can be allies in the fight to end systemic racism.
