Biotechnology workers at Prométic join the union – UFCW 1991P

Laval, Que. – February 8, 2021 – UFCW Local 1991P is proud to welcome biotechnology workers from Prométic located in Laval, Quebec.

The application for certification was approved on January 19, 2021 by the Tribunal administratif du travail (TAT).

UFCW 1991P extends a warm welcome to these 30 new members, who specialize in bio-technologies.

The new members are production technicians, team leaders, and sanitation employees who are all eager to join their voices with the nearly 55,000 UFCW members in Quebec, and more than 250,000 members across the country.

"We are proud to welcome these Prométic workers into the ranks after their historic victory earlier this year,” says President of UFCW 1991P Mario Maisonneuve. “By choosing to join the union, these workers change the balance of power towards building a strong and united voice when negotiating.”
