BDM Scholarship recipient builds on culinary dreams

Charlottetown, P.E.I. – June 2, 2024 – Culinary student Precious Agbroko is the latest recipient of the BDM scholarship. Agbroko’s husband is a member of UFCW 864 at Atlantic Beef Products. She is using the scholarship towards her first year of studies at Holland College’s Culinary Arts program.

“This scholarship lifts a huge burden off my shoulders and brings me one step closer to my goal of becoming a chef,” says Agbroko. “Cooking isn’t just a career for me – it’s a way to express creativity, connect with others, and contribute to the rich culinary landscape. I can’t thank UFCW Canada enough for their support in helping make this dream possible.”

The UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarship offers a total of $18,000 in scholarships to UFCW Canada members and their families and is one of more than 25 union scholarships available to members and their relatives every year, totaling more than $300,000 in support.
