Brandon, Man. – August 22, 2025 – Workers at Brandon Housing First have said “YES!” to joining UFCW Local 832, strengthening their voice at work and building a path toward fairness and respect on the job.
Brandon Housing First provides vital services in the community, supporting individuals and families who are transitioning into stable housing. Staff members deliver frontline support, advocacy, and outreach, ensuring that some of the most vulnerable members of the community receive the resources and care they need.
By joining UFCW Local 832, the 34 workers at Brandon Housing First have taken an important step to improve their workplace and protect the value of the work they do. The decision reflects a growing recognition that housing and social service workers play a key role in building stronger communities, yet often face challenges such as heavy workloads, limited resources, and a lack of recognition for their contributions.
