Eskasoni Health Centre workers ratify first contract – UFCW 864

Eskasoni, N.S. – January 19, 2025 – Following their successful organizing efforts in 2025, the new UFCW 864 members at Eskasoni Health Centre have voted unanimously in favour of ratifying their first collective bargaining agreement.

The four-year deal will allow these members to enjoy a safe, harassment free workplace with the safety of union representation and the grievance procedure backing them within workplace issues.  

The new agreement includes wage increases, overtime banking, pension plans, benefit improvements and more. The 87 healthcare workers at joined UFCW 864 in the spring of 2025.

UFCW Local 864 is a private-sector labour union representing workers at Cavendish Farms, Atlantic Beef, UPEI, ADL, Beach Point Processing, and O’Leary Co-op.
