Retail members at Red River Co-op ratify new agreement – UFCW 832
Winnipeg – March 4, 2026 – UFCW Local 832 members working at Red River Co-op have voted 92 per cent in favour of ratifying a new five-year collective bargaining agreement, securing strong gains and long-term stability for workers across the co-operative.
Red River Co-op is a locally-owned co-operative serving the communities of Winnipeg, Gimli, Kenora, Dryden, Selkirk, and Stonewall.
Under the terms of the new five-year agreement, members will receive the best wage increases they have seen in a decade, along with retroactive pay. Pharmacy Assistants will benefit from an additional wage increase.
The contract also delivers more full-time job opportunities. In addition, increases to workplace premiums will further boost overall earnings.
UFCW Local 832 Red River Co-op members working in Stonewall and Gimli will also see improvements to their benefits coverage, with reduced costs for their benefit plans.
“First, I want to thank the workers at Red River Co-op for getting involved with this round of negotiations and whose support helped us get this deal. Second, I want to thank the bargaining committee. They worked so hard and did such a great job on this deal,” said Marie Buchan, Secretary-Treasurer of UFCW Local 832 and lead negotiator.
