UFCW Canada endorses Team Unite for CLC leadership
Toronto – May 7, 2026 - UFCW Canada is proud to endorse Team Unite for election at the upcoming 31st Constitutional Convention of the Canadian Labour Congress, taking place May 11 to 15, 2026.
UFCW Canada is calling on delegates to support the re-election of UFCW Canada’s own Bea Bruske as President, Lily Chang as Secretary-Treasurer, and Siobhán Vipond as Executive Vice-President, while also electing Marc-Édouard Joubert as Executive Vice-President.
Team Unite represents experienced, forward-looking leadership committed to strengthening Canada’s labour movement through solidarity, collaboration, and action. Their vision reflects the priorities of workers across the country: defending good jobs, advancing equity, strengthening organizing efforts, and ensuring the labour movement remains a powerful voice for working people in every sector.
“This is a pivotal moment for Canada’s labour movement, and we need strong, collaborative leadership to meet the challenges ahead. I’m proud to support Team Unite because they’ve delivered real results for workers and have shown they can bring people together to win meaningful change,” says UFCW Canada National President Barry Sawyer. “With Bea Bruske, Lily Chang, Siobhan Vipond, and Marc-Édouard Joubert, I’m confident we have the team to keep pushing forward and putting workers first across the country.”
Under Bea Bruske’s leadership, the CLC has continued to advocate for workers through challenging economic times, while Lily Chang and Siobhán Vipond have played critical roles in advancing campaigns that support fairness, inclusion, and worker empowerment. The addition of Marc-Édouard Joubert to Team Unite brings further strength to the slate, adding deep experience and a strong commitment to building an even more united labour movement.
The upcoming convention will bring together labour leaders and delegates from across the country to chart the course for Canada’s labour movement. UFCW Canada is proud to stand with Team Unite and encourages all delegates to lend their support to this outstanding slate of candidates.
