Healthcare workers at Bayshore Health join the union – UFCW 175

Toronto – August 13, 2026 – Healthcare workers at Bayshore Health Care Solutions have voted in favour of union representation, bringing 85 new members into the UFCW Locals 175 & 633 family.

The new members joined the union in the pursuit of better job security, working conditions, wages, benefits, health and safety, and respect.

“We welcome the healthcare workers of Bayshore to the union,” said UFCW 175 President Kelly Tosato. “Healthcare workers bring dignity and compassion to their clients’ lives every day, and those workers deserve better working conditions across the board. And as their union, we are here to support them in achieving that goal.”

In securing this milestone, the new members are looking forward to the next steps and working toward their first collective agreement as members of UFCW Local 175’s Health, Office, and Professional Employees (HOPE) Sector.

The new bargaining unit aids clients who are struggling with illnesses like cancer, dementia, rheumatoid arthritis, and diabetes, injury recovery, and other community and homecare support to allow their clients to remain independent and healthy.
