Healthcare workers at WellFort Community Health join the union – UFCW 175

Mississauga, Ont. – September 11, 2026 – Healthcare workers at WellFort Community Health Services at the Dundas Medical Shelter in Mississauga, Ontario are among the newest members of UFCW Local 175 having voting in favour of union representation.

The new bargaining unit at WellFort Community Health Services brings 35 members into the UFCW Locals 175 & 633 family and is composed of nurses, personal support workers, team leads, and office administration workers. The healthcare workers are seeking a more inclusive environment, with a focus on equitable treatment and standardized processes.

“Workplace equity and transparency are key to building a positive workplace culture,” said UFCW Local 175 President Kelly Tosato. “We are looking forward to standing alongside the WellFort healthcare workers to improve their working conditions and create a fair, inclusive environment.”

WellFort Community Health Services is a not-for-profit organization that provides health services to individuals and families in the Peel region of Ontario. Some of their services include healthcare awareness and educational programs for illnesses such as diabetes, HIV, and hepatitis C.
