Toronto – July 2, 2013 – UFCW Canada activists from Locals 175 & 633 and 1000A once again joined Toronto’s LGBT community and thousands of tourists, families and merrymakers at North America’s largest PRIDE week, held this year from June 21 to 30.
Throughout the week-long celebration of diversity and human rights, Locals 175 & 633 and 1000A engaged thousands of workers from the LGBT community – plus family, friends and supporters – at the UFCW Canada information booth, located in the heart of the PRIDE Week Street Fair, just east of Yonge Street.
UFCW activists were especially loud and proud on Sunday, June 30 with two outstanding floats that weaved their way through downtown as an important part of the 33rd annual Toronto Pride Parade, which included more than a million participants and spectators.
Happy with the tremendous success of this year’s event, both Local Unions are already looking forward to next year – when Toronto will host World Pride 2014!
