Countdown to global Pride festival begins at ufcw.ca/pride

 WORLDPRIDE / UNIONPRIDE - 2014

Toronto – March 26, 2014 – UFCW Canada has just launched ufcw.ca/pride – a new website resource to support our union's proud and prominent role in the upcoming international Pride festivities in Toronto, to be held from June 20-29.

As Canada's leading and most progressive union, UFCW Canada and our Local Union members will be participating in the many events during this ten-day, global Pride festival, which seeks to honour the past, celebrate the present, and inspire a better future for LGTQ communities everywhere.

The ufcw.ca/pride website is chocked full of photos and videos, as well as information on how you can get involved with the parades, street fairs, conferences, and other special events for UFCW Canada members, family members, and activists attending the festival.

"UFCW Canada is proud to support and celebrate our LGBT brothers and sisters throughout the international Pride festival in Toronto," says National President Paul Meinema. "With just three months to go before the first-ever global Pride celebration is held in North America, we are excited about the response we are receiving from UFCW Canada Local Unions and activists planning to be part of the UFCW contingent. Together our voice will be loud and proud."

Plan to join the celebration at ufcw.ca/pride. And don’t just watch the parade - walk the Parade!  Find out how you can get involved by speaking with your UFCW Canada Local Union.
