Toronto – March 31, 2017 – Refugee Rights Day annually commemorates the April 4, 1985 ruling by the Supreme Court of Canada that refugee claimants are fully protected under the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, and are legally able to challenge a denial of their refugee status by the government.
Saskatoon, Sask. – March 15, 2017 – UFCW women activists from across the province gathered March 10 – 11, in Saskatoon, for the 11th Annual UFCW Saskatchewan Women’s Conference.
Toronto – March 14, 2017 – Students Against Migrant Exploitation (SAME) recently brought their message of creative activism to more than 200 participants at the Law in Action Within Schools (LAWS) Annual Global Citizens conference held at York University in Toronto.
Toronto – March 2, 2017 – Calls to stop a government crackdown on trade unionists and garment workers in Bangladesh have paid off as the 35 activists who were arrested in a series of December 2016 raids have been released.
