Brazil sues Walmart for abusing employee rights
Toronto – August 18, 2014 – Canada’s leading union for retail workers is renewing calls for global solidarity with Walmart workers, in light of the recent announcement that the Brazilian government is suing Walmart for labour rights abuses.


Toronto – August 6, 2014 - On August 9, 1982, the United Nations Working Group on Indigenous Populations met for the first time. Though the world’s Indigenous nations had suffered centuries of oppression and decimation under European colonization, it would still take the UN General Assembly another 25 years to adopt the Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.
