Quebec City – March 16, 2017 — UFCW Canada Local 500 members at the Coop de Sainte-Foy in Quebec City have unanimously ratified their first collective agreement.
The bargaining unit was certified in October 2016. The first contract covers more than 70 members and runs until 2020.
Workers at the top of the wage scale will receive wage improvements of 2%. Members also receive improvements to both personal and sick days. The negotiations also resulted in bonuses for workers classified as supervisors and assistant managers.
"Congratulations to the Sainte-Foy members on their very first collective agreement," says UFCW Canada Local 500 President Antonio Filato. "The bargaining committee has done an excellent job in handling the negotiations. We will proudly stand by you throughout the duration of your contract and for many years to come."
