Edmonton – June 19, 2013 – UFCW Canada Local 401 activists recently took pride in Edmonton by standing with more than 30,000 community members in the city’s most successful PRIDE parade ever.

Toronto – June 18, 2013 - Each year the United Nations' (UN) World Refugee Day is observed on June 20^th. This event honours the courage, strength, and determination of women, men, and children who are forced to flee their homeland under threat of persecution and violence. This day was designated by the UN High Commissioner for Refugees to bring attention to the plight of the 14 million refugees around the world.

Toronto – June 17, 2013 - Migrant agriculture workers, UFCW Canada and AWA activists, and community allies gathered to celebrate the Father's Day weekend, and to also send a message to the Harper government that Migrant Workers Are Parents Too.

Denver - June 17, 2013 - Over 200 UFCW activists, labour allies, community members, and former Zellers workers converged on the Target annual shareholders' meeting in Denver, Colorado to demand the corporation respect workers' rights. Former Zellers worker Angela Rankin traveled from Toronto with UFCW Canada national representative Kevin Shimmin to confront Target CEO Gregg Steinhafel. Rankine was joined by members of UFCW Local 7 from Colorado; SEIU members from Minnesota; community groups from across the United States, and Minnesota State Representative Raymond Dehn.

Moncton, N.B. – June 17, 2013 – Youth activists from UFCW Canada Locals 1288P and 864 recently gathered in Moncton, New Brunswick to participate in the official launch of this year’s UFCW Canada Youth Internship Program – the country’s leading youth leadership and activism program.
