Calgary – August 23, 2019 – UFCW activists and allies from across Canada and the United States recently gathered in Calgary for the 2019 UFCW United Latinos Conference, where participants shared ideas and strategies on how to empower Latino workers and build Latino pride within UFCW and the North American labour movement.

St. Catharines, Ont. – August 21, 2019 – UFCW Canada is calling for additional protections for migrant agrifood workers following a fire at Pioneer Flower Farms in St. Catharines, Ontario that has destroyed employees’ housing accommodations and resulted in further precarity for one of Canada’s most vulnerable worker populations.
Toronto – August 20, 2019 – UFCW Canada, Breast Cancer Action Quebec, Environmental Defence Canada, and Mind the Store have joined forces to launch a public campaign urging Canada’s leading grocery retail giants – Costco Canada, Loblaws, Metro, Sobeys, and Walmart Canada – to stop using receipt paper coated with bisphenol-A (BPA) or bisphenol-S (BPS).
