Toronto – June 20, 2014 – Canada’s leading union, UFCW Canada, is proud to announce the official launch UFCW Pride News, a multimedia channel dedicated to providing dynamic coverage of this year’s World Pride events held in Toronto!

UFCW Canada, UFCW Locals, and community partners are gearing up for an exciting celebration of diversity and culture with the quickly approaching Pride festivities in Toronto, that will involve people from around the globe showing their Pride, from June 20 - 29.
Toronto, as the host city for this International gathering of LGBT communities around the globe will also make history, as this will be the first time that the global Pride festival is held in North America. UFCW Canada is excited to take part in many of the events that will be featured throughout this ten-day festival and international celebration incorporating activism, education, and the history and culture of global LGBT communities.
We are aiming for a strong contingent from all UFCW Canada Local Unions at the Pride Parade on Sunday, June 29. UFCW Canada Local Unions, members and activists are also encouraged to join in the many other events in which UFCW Canada participation will be part of.

Toronto’s 2014 Dyke March
Toronto – June 16, 2014 – An essential part of Toronto Pride Week is the Dyke March on June 28. As the nation’s most progressive union, UFCW Canada members and allies will join thousands of participants as we walk from Allan Gardens to George Hilsop Parkette in Toronto.
Winnipeg and Edmonton – June 13, 2014 – UFCW activists proudly shared their solidarity with their LGBT brothers and sisters at recent Pride celebrations in Winnipeg and Edmonton. At the 27th Pride Winnipeg Parade, UFCW Canada Local 1869 and Local 832 activists joined more than 1,000 marchers on June 1 for the largest Pride parade ever held in the city.
UFCW OUTreach and the Celebrate Your UFCW Pride Event
Toronto – June 12, 2014 – In August 2013, at the 7th UFCW International Convention in Chicago, four UFCW Canada activists were elected at the inaugural executive board meeting of UFCW OUTreach.
World Pride Set to Take over Toronto
Toronto – June 9, 2014 - World Pride is a celebration bringing LGBT organizations, communities and allies together under a global structure. The event is coordinated by the World Pride Committee of Interpride and its respective host organization.
