UFCW Canada activists came out in force on September 5 to celebrate Labour Day and to send a strong message to politicians in five different provinces.

This year’s Labour Day is closely followed by five provincial elections. Starting on October 2, UFCW Canada members will be making a big political difference as voters and activists in the following elections:

Prince Edward Island – October 2

Manitoba – October 4

Ontario – October 6

Newfoundland and Labrador – October 11

Saskatchewan – November 7

“As much as Labour Day is about celebrating the remarkable achievements of workers, it is also about looking forward and demonstrating our solidarity as workers and our ability to mobilize for positive change that improves our lives and futures,” says UFCW Canada National President Wayne Hanley, who joined over 300 UFCW Canada members at the Toronto Labour Day Parade.
