The night premium will now be 80 cents per hour and the evening premium will be 50 cents per hour.

Following are the highlights of the new contract for the members at this store in the Lac-Saint-Jean region:

  • The UFCW Quebec dental plan will remain in effect ;
  • The employer’s contribution to the Solidarity Fund will go up to $2.50 in 2016 and $5 in 2018;
  • Sick leave will increase to 48 hours and be paid at 100% if not taken;
  • The number of hours in the progression scale will be reduced to 650.

 “I am delighted that this new collective agreement has been concluded,” said Daniel Nadeau, President of Local 509. “It provides for competitive working conditions in the food sector and provides the continuation of good, unionized jobs.
