UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarship Winner: Raissa Bedural, UFCW 401
Edmonton – February 11, 2015 – Raissa Bedural is one of eighteen UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarship winners for 2014. Currently in her second year of the Bachelor of Industrial Design program at the University of Alberta, Raissa is the daughter of UFCW Canada Local 401 member Gina Bedural, who works at Mckesson Canada in Edmonton, Alberta.
"I was extremely happy to learn that I am a recipient of the 2014 UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarship," says Sister Bedural. "I am an industrial design student majoring in engineering, and this scholarship will be a huge help with my school supplies. Winning this scholarship has also given me further motivation to achieve my educational goals," she adds.
Every year UFCW Canada offers a total of eighteen union scholarships worth $1,000 each to members, their spouses, and dependants for post-secondary education. The BDM scholarship was created to honour past UFCW leaders William Beggs, Fred Dowling, and Roméo Mathieu.
