Toronto – August 6, 2015 – As a strong supporter of education and lifelong learning, our union offers 18 annual UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarships worth $1,000 each to active members and their family for post-secondary study.

Named in honour of three past leaders of UFCW Canada – William Beggs, Fred Dowling, and Romeo Mathieu – our scholarship program is designed to support members and their families in reaching their educational goals.

Applying for a UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarship is easy. You don’t have to be an A+ student. All it requires is a passion for learning, enrollment at a post-secondary institution, and a few minutes of your time to complete the online application.

In addition to awarding 18 UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarships to members and their families, our union also holds a referral contest for the scholarship program. Every member who refers an eligible student to apply for a UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarship receives a chance to win a brand new Apple iPad.
