Members at Les crèmes glacées Lebel achieve first contract – UFCW 501
Lachute, Que. – February 29, 2016 – UFCW Canada Local 501 members working at Les crèmes glacées Lebel in Lachute, Quebec have ratified a first collective agreement.
The unit was certified in December 2014. The agreement was signed on February 8, 2016 and runs until 2019. Highlights of the first agreement include:

The obligation to post available positions and to respect seniority in allocating positions;

The allocation of working hours based on seniority;

Annual salary increases that are competitive with the market;

Retroactive salary increases of 4%;

Shorter period for entitlement to a fourth week of vacation.
“Congratulations to all the members, and thank you to the members of the bargaining committee,” said Alain Lachaîne, president of UFCW Canada Local 501. “We are very glad that that a fair and satisfying contract was achieved," he adds.
