Hilton Fallsview members achieve new contract – UFCW 102

Niagara Falls, Ont. – April 18, 2016 – UFCW Canada Local 102 members working at the Hilton Fallsview hotel have achieved a new contract that brings many gains to members, including better benefits, wages, pensions, and more.

The Hilton Fallsview, located in one of Canada's premier tourist destinations, is connected to the Niagara Fallsview Casino. The hotel has also been voted as one of the Top 10 Hotel Views in the World by TripAdvisor. Local 102 members at the Hilton Fallsview are employed in the housekeeping, maintenance, and laundry departments.

As per the new collective agreement, members will receive a 22 per cent increase in benefits coverage, as well as an 8.5 per cent wage increase over the duration of the contract.

Gains were also made in both vacation and bereavement leave. Members also gained a 90 per cent increase in the rate of the employer’s pension contributions. The new contract also features an increase in the maintenance allowance.

"This is a fair new contract for members at one of the busiest hotels in all of Canada," says UFCW Canada Local 102 President Dominic Musitano. "The bargaining committee did an outstanding job at negotiating this new contract."
