UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarship winner: Natalie Luong, UFCW 1518
Surrey, B.C. – May 31, 2016 – Natalie Luong is one of eighteen UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarship winners for 2015.
Currently enrolled in the Human Resources Management program at Kwantlen Polytechnic University in Surrey, British Columbia, Natalie is a proud UFCW Canada Local 1518 member who works at Safeway.
Sister Luong had the following to say about winning a UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarship:
“Being a recipient of the UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarship means a lot to me. This award will help me complete my degree so that I can eventually pursue my dream job in human resources. I am also striving to achieve top marks on my exams so that I can finish my program with a high grade point average (GPA). I would like to thank UFCW Canada for providing me with this amazing scholarship opportunity.”
Every year UFCW Canada offers a total of eighteen union scholarships worth $1,000 each to members, their spouses, and dependants for post-secondary education. The BDM scholarship was created to honour past UFCW leaders William Beggs, Fred Dowling, and Romeo Mathieu.
