Unite with life at Light the Night walks across Canada
Toronto – September 18, 2018 – Join thousands of UFCW Canada activists at Light the Night walks across Canada in advancing united to find a cure and better treatments for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease, and other blood cancers.
From coast-to-coast, annual Light the Night walks help raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphomas Society of Canada (LLSC) and its vital work to find a cure, provide better therapies and patient support, and raise public awareness that blood cancer is a battle that can be won.
At Light the Night events, friends, families, and co-workers form fundraising teams and walk in unity at twilight while holding an illuminated lantern with red for supporters, white for patients and survivors, and gold to remember loved ones lost. UFCW Canada and Local Unions are proud sponsors and supporters of Light the Night Walks across the country.
Over the past three decades, the UFCW Canada family of members, activists and Local Unions has raised more than $41.4 million for the LLSC through hundreds of annual fundraising events, including Light the Night walks. In 2017-208, UFCW activists raised $2,512,929 – reaffirming the UFCW Canada family as Canada’s largest annual fundraising organization supporting the life-changing work of the LLSC.
Join a Light the Night Walk in your community and let’s keep advancing united until all blood cancers are a thing of the past.
