Service members at Indigo Park secure better wages, benefits – UFCW 501

Quebec City – March 14, 2019 – UFCW Canada Local 501 members working at Indigo Park locations across Quebec City have ratified a new collective agreement that includes wage gains, higher premiums, and more.

The new three-year contract provides the following benefits to the taxi dispatchers, team leaders, cashiers, parking valets, parking lot attendants, car wash attendants, and baggage car attendants at the parking management company:

  • Wage raises of roughly 16.5 percent retroactive to May 1, 2018;
  • An increase in night premiums, which will rise from 50 cents to $1 per hour;
  • A new training premium of $1.25 per hour; and
  • Inclusion in the UFCW Dental Plan, to be funded entirely by the employer, with reimbursement of 80 percent of dental care costs.

 “We are very pleased with the outcome of this bargaining session, which really improves working conditions for members at Indigo Park,” says Daniel Nadeau, UFCW 501 Director for Eastern Quebec. “By adopting this new collective agreement unanimously, the Indigo Park members are endorsing the excellent work of the bargaining committee,” he adds.

UFCW Local 501 represents over 19,000 members working at more than 410 businesses across Quebec and New Brunswick. To learn more about UFCW 501, visit their website.
