Health care workers at Rivlin Medical Group join the union – UFCW 102
Mississauga, Ont. – January 27, 2020 – Health care workers at Rivlin Medical Group, a pain management clinic in Mississauga, are the newest members of UFCW Local 102 after recently voting to join the union.
The Rivlin employees work as administrative staff and Registered Practical Nurses (RPNs) at the clinic, which provides medical services for managing chronic, non-cancer pain that tends to resist standard pain management.
Following a successful application for certification at the Ontario Labour Relations Board, the new members of Local 102 join thousands of health care workers who are represented by UFCW Canada nationwide.
The Rivlin Medical Group members joined the union to address pay discrepancies and to have a strong voice on the job. They also want to affect change when it comes to their working conditions.
“We enthusiastically welcome the new members at Rivlin Medical Group and applaud them for leading the way for other health care employees who want to improve their workplace,” says UFCW Local 102 President Dominic Musitano. “The Rivlin members provide important services to the community and we look forward to helping them build a better life.”
UFCW Canada Local 102 represents over 5,000 members working in the hotel, hospitality, and service industries, as well as other sectors of the economy. To learn more about UFCW Local 102, visit the Local Union’s website.
