My webCampus Experience: Members find value in online learning during COVID-19
Toronto – July 29, 2020 – UFCW Canada members across the country continue to rave about the union's ground-breaking online education program, webCampus, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic as more members find themselves at home.
webCampus offers free online courses to all UFCW Canada members, their family members, and community partners. Many UFCW Canada members and allies take webCampus courses out of personal interest, while others see them as a way to develop their knowledge and professional skills.
Below is just a small sample of what members are saying about their learning experience with Canada’s leading online education program, webCampus:
Terry Rombough on Food & Nutrition Specialist – Part Two
Do you read the food labels when you go to the grocery store? Before this pandemic, I never read anything as I believed work, diet, and exercise worked hand in hand to keep me healthy. Since I have had a long stretch of shortage in work, I have begun to read food labels to know exactly what I am digesting, so that my weight is manageable. The two webCampus courses on Food & Nutrition, particularly Part Two, have been an immense help with this endeavor. I am only now beginning to understand the complexity of my body.
Allan Buquel on Word in the Cloud
I find this course very useful and easy to use. A big thumbs up from me.
Olajide Kingsley Moses on webCampus – Various Courses
I want to thank you for offering this excellent online learning platform. I have benefited greatly in learning about new topics that can be applied directly in the workplace. The instructors give valuable feedback and provide help in a very timely fashion. During the COVID-19 pandemic, you have given me hope for re-entering the workforce with expanded knowledge and an improved skill set. Thank you, webCampus, for all that you do.
