BDM Scholarship helps UFCW 175 & 633 member with transportation, textbook costs
St. Catharines, Ont. – August 25, 2020 – Hannah Peyton is one of eighteen winners of the UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarship. Currently enrolled in the Honours Bachelor of Business Administration program at Brock University, Hannah is a proud UFCW Locals 175 & 633 member who works at Food Basics.
Sister Peyton had the following to say about winning a UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarship:
“This scholarship, generously provided by UFCW Canada, will provide me with greater financial stability for the academic school year. I recently changed universities and this transfer has made my transportation to and from school more costly compared to previous years. My BDM scholarship will go towards these transportation costs, and standard school expenses like textbooks, which will help me focus on my education. I am very grateful to be a recipient of this award, and I would like to thank UFCW Canada for the support.”
The UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarship offers a total of $18,000 in scholarships to UFCW Canada members and their families and is one of more than 25 union scholarships available to members and their families every year, totaling more than $300,000 in support.
The deadline to apply for this year’s BDM Scholarship is September 30, 2020.
