UFCW Canada Equity Grant Program

Applications for the 2024 UFCW Canada Equity Grant are now closed. Thank you to all applicants!

The program builds on UFCW Canada’s longstanding mandate to support the work of both UFCW members and the communities they serve.

The Equity Grant Program aims to support newcomer programs, human rights initiatives, and community action projects which are being led or will be led by applicants in 2024/2025.

How to apply

Annually, the new Equity Grant Program consists of a total of three grants – worth $1,000 each – made available to UFCW Canada members and allies. The application for the 2024 Equity Grant is now closed.

Prospective applicants will have the ability to apply under one of three different streams. These include Newcomer/Immigration Stream; Human Rights Stream and the Community Action Stream.

Applicants must supply a 250-word short description or a short video on what they will do if they are named a winner of the Equity Grant Program.

UFCW Canada reserves the right to select the awarding of a grant recipient earlier than September 30th if the requested initiative for which the grant is to support involves a project with a timeline envisioned before the September 30th deadline, and UFCW Canada selects this application.
