Steinbach, Man. – January 18, 2022 – The latest recipient of the UFCW Canada Equity Grant has been awarded to the Citizens On Patrol Program (COPP) – Steinbach Chapter for their commitment to public safety and community service.
“In our local communities, we serve UFCW Canada members working in various sectors like food processing and retail, doing our part to keep the community safe,” says Rob Jessup, COPP Volunteer and UFCW 832 Executive Board Member. “The Equity Grant Program allows the COPP – Steinbach Chapter to continue our work serving the needs of our local community.”
COPP – Steinbach works with local law enforcement in crime prevention by keeping eyes on the community and reporting on any suspected wrongdoing. Funding from UFCW Canada’s Equity Grant Program has gone towards providing patrol volunteers with two-way radio communication and other equipment to assist their public safety efforts.
