BDM Scholarship award brings member closer to fulfilling her dreams

Edmonton – June 6, 2022 – The latest recipient of the BDM scholarship award goes to UFCW 401 member Aleesha Amjad, who works at Heritage Valley Superstore and is currently in her second year of the Bachelor of Fine Arts Program at MacEwan University.

“This scholarship will lighten the financial burden and move me one step closer to my dream of becoming an artist,” says Amjad. “I am extremely grateful for this award and I want to send many thanks to my union for this amazing opportunity.”

The UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarship offers a total of $18,000 in scholarships to UFCW Canada members and their families and is one of more than 25 union scholarships available to members and their relatives every year, totaling more than $300,000 in support.
