Food retail members at Gillam Co-op secure new contract – UFCW 832
Gillam, Man. – June 15, 2022 – UFCW 832 members at Gillam Co-op recently secured a new four-year collective agreement that increases wages, shift premiums, and statutory holidays, in addition to other improvements.
“Our negotiating committee did a great job acquiring gains for the membership in this contract,” says UFCW 832 Negotiator Joe Carreiro. “The Co-op is an integral part of the Gillam community, and we are happy to see them achieve this victory.”
The contract will see wages increase by 2 percent in year one, 1.5 percent in year two, 1.75 percent in year three, and 1.75 percent in the final year of the contract, with retroactive pay from January 1, 2022.
In addition to the wage increases, members will see the Sunday and evening shift premiums increase, as well as increased bereavement leave and the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation recognized as a statutory holiday.
