Social service members at VLRC Manitoba build a better life – UFCW 832
Winnipeg – September 26, 2022 – UFCW 832 members at Vision Loss Rehabilitation Canada (VLRC) recently secured a new collective agreement that significantly increases wages, premiums and more.
“The bargaining committee prevailed throughout negotiations showing focus and patience while working through over sixty items in the memorandum of agreement,” says UFCW 832 Union Negotiator Phil Kraychuk. “This steadfast determination comes with the reward of substantial improvements in the new contract.”
Members will see premiums increase for certifications and weekend and evening shifts, in addition to a 10 percent increase to wage scales at work anniversaries instead of June or December as outlined in previous contracts.
