Members at Cargill Chambly achieve new contract – UFCW 500
Chambly, Que. – October 6, 2022 — During a vote held online from July 8 to 12, UFCW 500 members at the Cargill plant in Chambly, Quebec overwhelmingly endorsed the terms of their new collective agreement. This agreement is one of the most advantageous in the meat processing industry with all the benefits are put together (salary, bonuses, group RRSP, pension plan, leave, etc.).
“This is excellent news that reflects the commitment of both parties to continue to grow this company and achieve common business objectives,” says UFCW 500 President Antonio Filato. “Open-mindedness and a global understanding of the realities and issues were a highlight of these meetings, which took place with the greatest respect.”
Members will see salary increases anywhere from 18.65% to 34.19% depending on classification, a faster salary progression to reach the top of the scale after 12 months, an increase in employer contributions to the RRSP contributions, and more.
