Food processing members at Cavendish Farms build a better life – UFCW 401
Lethbridge, Alta. – January 6, 2023 – UFCW 401 members at Cavendish Farms are celebrating a new contract victory after securing wage increases, improved benefits, and more.
The membership ratified the company’s final offer by a margin of 78 percent in favour and will see wages increase by 13.75 percent over the life of the five-year contract. In addition to the wage increases, a wage adjustment between $1.00 and $3.00 will be applied prior to increases and paid retroactive to previous contract expiry.
Members will also see improvements to shift premiums, contract language, union representation, bereavement, paid personal leave, dental, health care, vision, boot and tool allowance among other improvements.
