Manufacturing workers at Amcor Rigid Packaging join the union – UFCW 175 & 633
Mississauga, Ont. – February 3, 2023 – Over 260 manufacturing workers at Amcor Rigid Packaging are celebrating an organizing victory four months in the making after the Ontario Labour Relations Board (OLRB) counted segregated ballots in dispute since September 2022, sealing the workers victory.
“The organizing process can be daunting at times for many workers, but our local union organizers always have their backs and work hard to ensure they are informed throughout each step,” says UFCW 175 President Shawn Haggerty.
Workers joined the union to address wages, job security, pension and benefits, and are employed as operators, quality control, warehouse, shipping and receiving and maintenance staff.
