Guards at ASP Security build a better life – UFCW 401
Calgary – May 12, 2023 – UFCW 401 members at ASP Security tasked with providing safety and security at Calgary International Airport are celebrating a contract victory after overwhelmingly ratifying a new four-year collective agreement that increases wages, benefits, contract language and more.
Members will see their increases applied retroactive to January 1, 2023 with increases between $3.93 per hour and $4.98 per hour for the most senior members depending on classification. Classifications between start-rate and three years of service will see increases anywhere between $0.25 per hour and $1.78 per hour reaching top-rate after year three.
Members will also receive improved vision coverage at $250 every 24 months, shoe allowance between $100-$200 depending on classification, increased dental coverage at $1,500 every 12 months and an annual $1,000 employer contribution to the union’s training and education fund. Contract language improvements were also made to streamline the grievance procedure, protect full-time hours, secure seniority provisions, and improve vacation language.
