Transportation members at Darling International celebrate first contract victory – UFCW 1006A

Dundas, Ont. – June 1, 2023 – UFCW 1006A members at Darling International (Fleet Division) are celebrating a first contract victory fresh off the heels of a successful organizing campaign in the summer of 2022.

“Congratulations to these members on their inspiring achievements, which began with their organizing drive and now securing a fair first contract,” says UFCW 1006A President Wayne Hanley. “Union representation is the key to lifting up all workers and building a better future.”

The first contract comes with some important securities such as on-site representation language to alongside wage, benefit, and pension improvements, in addition to a limit on driving hours.
