Uber driver reactivated with UFCW assistance after paperwork error
Kitchener, Ont. – January 19, 2024 – Greater Toronto Area Uber driver Tarak is back on the road after receiving UFCW Canada assistance to help him get reactivated onto the platform.
Tarak initially had issues in 2022 when he realized he was no longer able to pick up rides within the city of Toronto.
Upon trying to correct issues with his account, Uber discovered an error within Tarak’s vehicle safety documentation and promptly deactivated him from the platform.
With a young family and rising cost of living Tarak knew he had to get this mistake corrected and contacted UFCW Canada for assistance.
Upon receiving the case, UFCW Canada, whose landmark agreement with Uber has resulted in the reactivation of hundreds of drivers on the platform, was able to get Tarak back on the road and back to earning.
“Thank you so much UFCW to get me back on the road,” says Tarak in a video statement. “I really appreciate your help! Thank you so much!”
