Manufacturing workers at Lallemand Inc. join the union – UFCW 175 & 633
Cornwall, Ont. – April 1, 2024 – Workers at Lallemand Inc. in Cornwall, Ontario have voted to join UFCW Locals 175 & 633.
The newest members of our union specialize in the development, production and marketing of yeasts and bacteria. They are employed as machine operators and maintenance workers, and they joined our union to make improvements to their working conditions.
The workers sought to join UFCW 175 due to concerns with workplace mistreatment, wages, fairness, and respect in the workplace.
Following their successful certification vote, these members are eager to begin collective bargaining to build a better life through:
- Gaining improvements to their wages and job security,
- Enhancing the health and safety at work, and;
- Securing a harassment-free workplace.
