UFCW helps Uber driver get reactivated in case of mistaken identity
Hamilton, Ont. – May 29, 2024 – Umid A. of Hamilton, Ontario is back to earning, thanks to UFCW Canada, after being reactivated on the Uber platform following a case of mistaken identity.
Umid A., an UberEats delivery worker, suddenly found himself locked out of his account. Uber, in an attempt to address identity verification concerns, had mistakenly flagged him as someone else, triggering the deactivation. This left him in a state of confusion and uncertainty, as his livelihood depended on his ability to work through the ridesharing platform.
Umid then contacted UFCW Canada for assistance in getting his account reactivated. Through UFCW Canada’s agreement with Uber Canada, drivers like Ahmad can access representation services from UFCW Canada to assist with account deactivations, licensing issues, background checks, and more.
“Thank you UFCW!” says Umid. “I would recommend that if you find yourself in a similar situation as I found myself, reach out to UFCW, they are great people that will assist you.”
