Victoria, B.C. – June 29, 2013 – Workers at an Empire Theatres movie house in Victoria have become the newest members of UFCW Canada Local 1518 by voting “Yes!” to Canada’s leading and most progressive voice for workers. The script unfolded with a young, energetic inside committee of teenage and young adult workers seeking a fair wage ladder, better scheduling, and respect from management. The multi-screen cinema is located in Victoria’s central downtown area.

The new Local 1518 bargaining unit at the multi-screen cinema was certified after a successful organizing campaign and representation vote.
