Quebec City – April 10, 2014 – UFCW Canada Local 1991P is proud to announce the certification of a new bargaining unit in the St-Augustin de Desmaures region of Quebec.

Approximately thirty workers at Lasertech Industries – a company that specializes in manufacturing sheet metal products – are the newest members of Local 1991P after voting to join the union late last month.

The Lasertech workers join the 45,000 members in Quebec and more than 250,000 members Canada-wide who belong to the country’s largest food and retail union, UFCW Canada.

“We welcome the Lasertech members and would like to thank them for the trust they have placed in Local 1991P,” says UFCW Canada Local 1991P President Mario Maisonneuve. “We also want the Lasertech members to know that we will do everything possible to effectively represent their interests moving forward,” Brother Maisonneuve adds.
