Deadline for $8,000 UFCW International Scholarship is June 20
Toronto – June 7, 2014 – Attention all UFCW Canada members and family members who are enrolled in a full-time post-secondary program: the deadline for the UFCW International Scholarship is approaching on Friday, June 20, 2014.
Every year, the union awards the International Scholarship to UFCW members and their unmarried dependents who are enrolled in a full-time post-secondary program. One Canadian member will be among those selected, with a prize of $8,000 paid out in $2,000 increments every year for up to four years of qualifying post-secondary education.
The union scholarship winners will be selected on the basis of their scholastic achievements, community involvement, and the completion of an essay discussing the principles of the labour movement.
