Kitimat, B.C. – April 22, 2015 – UFCW Canada Local 247 is proud to welcome workers at the Kitimat Recycling depot (KUTE) as the newest members of the Local Union. The BC Labour Relations Board certified the new Local 247 bargaining unit after a majority of workers voted "YES" to join the union.
Toronto – April 21, 2015 – At a time when Canadians are struggling to find good paying jobs, more seniors are living in poverty, and while high unemployment persists, Harper's Conservatives introduced a budget more concerned with the continued gutting of services in order to squeeze out a balanced budget to bolster their re-election campaign.
Toronto – April 23, 2015 – Students Against Migrant Exploitation (S.A.M.E.) recently concluded their annual tour, conducting workshops at more than 80 colleges, universities, elementary schools and community centres in more than 20 cities throughout Canada, the United States and Brazil to bring awareness to the problem of migrant worker exploitation.
