Abbotsford, B.C. – March 10, 2016 – The union rights of UFCW Canada Local 1518 migrant agriculture members at a British Columbia nursery operation have been upheld by the B.C. Labour Relations Board (BCLRB), which has struck down a decertification application in the wake of a breach of the labour code by the employer and other parties.
Winnipeg – March 8, 2016 – UFCW Canada applauds the government of Manitoba on the passage of Bill 8, which provides a victim of domestic violence up to five days of paid workplace leave, and up to an additional 17 weeks of unpaid leave with a right-to-return to the job guaranteed.
Toronto – March 10, 2016 – Employees of medical marijuana producers are considered agricultural workers, which means they can't unionize in Ontario.
