“Education Has No Borders” is the spirit of commitment which led to the creation of the UFCW Canada Migrant Workers Scholarships. In a span of two years, over 9,000 scholarship applications from around the globe have been received.
"The Prairie School once again proved to be a resounding success with registrations from across the Prairies exceeding capacity, " says UFCW Canada Local 1400 member Carol Cisecki, who along with three other Local 1400 sisters recently participated in the 2012 Prairie School for Union Women (PSUW) retreat for women labour activists held at Waskesiu Lake in northern Saskatchewan. More than 100 sisters from a number of unions attended.

Over 400 delegates from various unions across Manitoba recently came together in Winnipeg for the Manitoba Federation of Labour (MFL) convention. Delegates discussed resolutions and listened to speakers sharing their stories about the labour movement, politics and social issues.
UFCW Canada Saskatchewan local union activists, staff and officers joined in with 300 other delegates at the Saskatchewan NDP 75th Annual Convention, June 22-24, for a three-day review of the challenges facing the party and working people in Saskatchewan, and the next step in a renewal campaign that includes the selection of a new leader at the party's next convention in March 2013.
