UFCW Canada is joining a growing number of concerned Canadians by supporting the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) in stamping the latest contract offer by their employer, the Canada Post Corporation, as short-sighted and unfair for our communities, and in demanding it be returned to sender for more careful consideration.
More than 45 delegates and guests recently participated in the UFCW Canada Saskatchewan Women’s Conference in Saskatoon. The conference, held March 4 – 6, brought UFCW Canada sisters from Local Unions across the province including locals 1400, 248P, 649, and 342P.
UFCW Canada Local 401 has teamed up with the Alberta Federation of Labour (AFL) and other leading civil society organizations to help one of the province’s most service deprived communities find hope through an inspiring project called “Operation Hockey”.
As Canadians appear to be headed to the polls early in May, perhaps now is the time to reflect on this Parliament, Canada’s 40th Parliament, and determine what needs to be done to prevent a repeat in the 41st Parliament.
