Union ushers in new unit at Victoria movie theatre
Victoria, B.C. – June 29, 2013 – Workers at an Empire Theatres movie house in Victoria have become the newest members of UFCW Canada Local 1518 by voting “Yes!” to Canada’s leading and most progressive voice for workers. The script unfolded with a young, energetic inside committee of teenage and young adult workers seeking a fair wage ladder, better scheduling, and respect from management.
